Refund and cancellation policy

Cancel from a screen, keep what you paid for until the period ends, and the cases where we give money back.

The short version. Cancel whenever you like, from a screen, and your plan runs to the end of the period you already paid for. First payment on any plan is refundable in full for 14 days. If something we sell you on the pricing page does not work and we cannot fix it in 30 days, you get the period back.

Cancelling

Open Billing, type cancel, and it is done. There is no retention call, no form, and nobody to email.

Cancelling stops the subscription at the end of the period you have already paid for. It does not cut you off on the day. If you are on €399 a month and you cancel on the second day of the month, you keep every Team feature for the remaining 28 days, because you paid for them. No further payment is taken after that.

The billing screen shows the exact date your plan runs to. Until that date one button puts the subscription back with no new charge and nothing to set up again.

On the end date the account moves to the Free plan. Nothing is deleted.

Changing plan instead

Moving up or down a plan is prorated immediately by Dodo Payments, who work out the difference for the time left in your period and settle it on the card. Moving down is not a refund and does not need this policy.

A downgrade that would put you over the new plan’s product allowance is refused with a message rather than performed. Choosing which of your products to switch off is not our decision to make.

When we refund

The first 14 days, no reason needed

Your first payment for any paid plan is refundable in full for 14 days from the charge. Ask and we refund it. You do not have to explain, and we will not ask you to sit through a call about it. This applies once per account, on the first plan you buy.

We sell without a demo and without a sales call, so this is how you find out whether the product works on your firmware: by pointing it at your firmware.

A charge that should not have happened

Duplicate charges, a charge after you cancelled, or a charge on a plan you did not buy get refunded in full. There is no time limit on this one.

Something we sell does not work

If a feature listed on the pricing page does not do what the page says, tell us. If we have not fixed it within 30 days, we refund the current period in full, and the annual period in full if you are on annual and the feature is one you bought the plan for.

We check every feature bullet on the pricing page against production automatically, every day. A bullet that cannot be backed gets deleted rather than left up. This clause is what happens when that check misses something.

A long outage

If the service is unavailable for more than 72 consecutive hours, tell us and we refund that time pro rata. We do not offer a contractual uptime guarantee and we are not going to pretend otherwise, so this is a plain floor rather than a service level agreement.

When we do not refund

  • A monthly period that has started and is outside the 14-day window. You keep the period. That is what you paid for and you still have it.
  • The unused months of an annual plan, outside the 14-day window. Annual is billed as ten months instead of twelve, and the discount is the reason the commitment exists. The plan still runs to the end of the year you paid for.
  • An account we suspended for breaking the acceptable use policy.

The two clauses above about a broken feature and a long outage still apply to annual plans. Buying annual does not remove them.

Add-ons

  • Deep binary scan credits are refundable within 14 days if none of them has been spent. Credits do not expire, so there is no deadline pushing you to use them.
  • Human review by a named reviewer is refundable in full any time before a reviewer is assigned. Once the written findings are delivered it is not refundable, because the work is done and it has your reviewer’s name on it.

The free plan

There is nothing to refund. The scope and class wizard is free, needs no signup and asks for no email address, and it stays that way.

How to ask

Email hello@synthworx.com from the address on the account. Say what you want refunded and why, if there is a why. We reply within two working days and we do not use the reply to talk you out of it.

How the money comes back

Dodo Payments is the merchant of record, so refunds go back through them to the payment method you used. They usually land in 5 to 10 working days depending on your bank. We do not hold your card and cannot refund to anything else.

Refunds are of the amount you were charged. Where Dodo collected VAT, the refund includes it.

Your statutory rights

If you are a consumer in the European Union or the United Kingdom you have a 14-day right to withdraw from a distance contract. Nothing in this policy takes that away, and our own 14-day rule above is at least as good as it. Where the two differ, whichever is better for you applies.

What happens to your data

Cancelling deletes nothing. Your SBOMs, documents, findings, cases and audit trail stay readable, and the ten-year evidence retention keeps running. Evidence bundle download stays available on any account that has ever held a paid plan, including long after it ends. A technical file you cannot retrieve is not evidence of anything.

If you want your data actually gone, ask us and we will erase it. That is a separate request from cancelling, on purpose, because the two are very different things to want.
